In this project we were asked to redesign the fashion designer store that is located in the 5th floor of the exisiting 1111 parking garage designed by Herzog & deMeuron in Miami Beach. I took the freedom of choosing the fashion designer I was going to design the store for. After studying different designers and their "style" I chose the Japanese designer Yohi Yamamoto.

Conceived as an exclusive designer store/atelier, this project arises as a unique integrated system designed to incorporate every aspect of the program.

The system consists of an irregular array of plywood panels, creating a gradient in the front and back facades in order to control light in the interior spaces, dimming it in the work area, and totally cancelling it in the private areas such as bathrooms and storage.

Spheres are the only geometry that generate the interior spaces. The existing columns of the parking garage act as guides for the spheres, so the space distribution responds to the division created by the spheres tangent to the columns.
